PhD Student, Researcher

Chasity Corbin (they/them), is a passionate researcher and advocate dedicated to advancing our understanding of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in women. With a diverse academic background, Chasity earned their undergraduate degree in Psychology at Iowa State University, accompanied by minors in Linguistics, Human Development, and Statistics. They also studied under Dr. Steven Engel and Dr. Gordon Legge of University of Minnesota in the summer of 2022 for an internship in professional human research, as well as ran three different labs while at Iowa State.

Driven by their own diagnosis of C-PTSD and a deep empathy for fellow individuals impacted by trauma, Chasity's research focuses on unraveling the intricate layers of PTSD's manifestation in women, aiming to shed light on effective interventions and support systems. They hope to use easily available interventions such as music therapy in their upcoming research. Their commitment to this critical field stems from a desire to empower survivors and promote mental health equity.

Outside of their academic pursuits, Chasity enjoys spending cherished moments with their loving family, including their adorable pug companion, Morty, and their devoted husband and son. Through a harmonious blend of personal and professional interests, Chasity is on a mission to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by PTSD, one study at a time.
